Day 215-{7 months old}
Dear Eli,
You are turning into quite the fun baby! You have grown so much this month, both physically and in how you interact with the world around you. You have learned how to shake your head “no” and LOVE to do this in our car seat and highchair. You are getting so close to crawling and are very efficient at pushing yourself backwards and spinning in circles. It’s really fun to watch you and Reid interact. Reid gets sad when it is time for you to eat one last time before bed, because he knows that he can’t play with you anymore. You say Mama and laugh. You are a snuggle bug (Mama loves that about you). You are SWEET!
You love Sophie the Giraffe and chew on her quite vigorously. The jump a roo is still your favorite place to hang out. :) You also like stuffed animals and blankets.
You are a pretty laid back, easy going, happy, chill and funny baby. We love that you make us laugh.....All of the time.
Love always,
Brothers.

Day 184-{6 months old}
Dear Eli,
I can not believe that it was half a year ago that Daddy and I first met you. We didn’t know then how much fun you would be at 6 months old. You are such a happy boy.
Since I didn’t have a chance to write a letter last month, this will be a 5 month and six month letter.
You have become very vocal and love to say da da da ba ba ba ma ma. It is so fun to hear you blabbing away to Reid in your jump a roo or to Daddy when he’s trying to bounce you to sleep.
You reach out and grab toys and food that you want with A LOT of passion. It looks so funny when you are determined to get something, because you literally slap the table and object before grabbing onto it.
Your eyes are still blue and so expressive, we love you, our blue eyed boy!
You sleep from around 7:30pm-6 or 7am. You have started having a hard time sleeping, so we swaddle you. For now it works and I’m sure, in time, that you will outgrow the need. :) Napping is a challenge. I think it is partially because by the time I lay you down you are too tired to put yourself to sleep. Swaddling has been helpful, but isn’t always successful. We are working on it.:)
You now sit with us at the dinner table. Reid sits in the booster seat and you get to sit in the high chair. You aren’t very interested in us feeding you, but you LOVE to feed yourself. You will pretty much eat anything that we give to you, and usually clean up what Reid doesn’t eat. At your check up today you weighed 19lbs 15oz and you were 27” tall.
You are starting to want to crawl. If we lay you on your belly, you will try REALLY hard to pull yourself across the floor, but you haven’t figured out the leg part yet. :) I think you will crawl very soon.
Overall you are super laid back, love to laugh at just about anything and you are curious about everything! You love stuffed animals, jumping and your brother. You smile at people and then burry your head in my shoulder. You sometimes don’t sleep (Christmas Eve) but we would not change anything about you and love that you are our son.
Love,
Mama

Day 123-{4 months old}
November 26, 2011
Dear Eli,
You are now 4 months old! You are getting chunkier and chunkier and taller and taller. You can roll over both ways now and want to sit up on your own SO badly. You can sort of do the “tripod” sit, but your belly is in the way, so you get mad. You smile and laugh at just about any antics we do or don’t do. In other words you laugh very easily.
You have enjoyed jumping in the jump a roo and watching your brother run past you this month. You have been resisting afternoon naps, but Mommy has her way of getting/making you sleep. :) You still sleep all through the night, so I really should not complain.
You are a joy. We are glad that you are our boy and we can’t wait to teach you all about life, playing, and most of all Jesus. You are a special creation, made by Him and we are so glad that He gave us you!!
Love always,
Mommy

Day 92-{3 months old}
Dear Eli,
I can not believe that you are 3 months old. It seems just a few days ago we were driving home from the hospital, as a family of 4. You have grown so big and alert this month. You are SUCH a happy baby and smile at most anything we do. You love it when we clap your hands together and say, “Yippeee or yea!!”
You are very chatty and let us know when you need some attention or food. True to my pregnancy with you, you are such a WIGGLE WORM! You never stop moving!
You are now going to bed around 8:30pm and wake around 7:30am. What a good boy you are! You learned how to roll over this month, it was so fun to watch you try and turn and then finally do it! What a strong little man.
You aren’t spitting up as much lately, which is so nice, it’s not fun to pick up throw up and change your outfit every hour. (it wasn’t really that bad, I’m just exaggerating) You are still a pretty gassy baby and you have the best farts, sorry to embarrass you, but it’s true.
Some other random things about you this month:
You still have very lovely blue eyes. Not sure if you are going to keep them,only time will tell.
You usually hate your baths, but sometimes you don’t mind it and smile at us
You love to watch Reid in the playroom
You have the best chunky legs,belly and cheeks and the sweetest laugh and smile
You love to eat
The stroller makes you happy
You look really cute in hats. I think it’s because of your super cheeks.
You really want to sit up, but can’t...you try to anyway
You laugh in your sleep
You love to be warm and cozy
You are wearing size Medium G diapers
It has been really fun to watch your personality come out this month. You are a sweet, happy, giggly little guy and we wouldn’t trade you for any other baby. :)
I love you more than you know,
Mama

Day 62-{2 months old}
Dear Eli,
You are 2 months old today. You are starting to become more and more fun. Daddy and I love that you smile at us and “chat” with us. Reid loves that you smile at him and watch him.
Here is a list of what you do:
Sleep through the night (most of the time)
Smile
Sleep in the same room as Reid
Smile at Reid
Like being held
Like going for walks
Try really hard to suck your thumb
Projectile vomit ( oh what fun)
Wiggle A LOT
You love the mobile above the changing table
You pee a lot, so much so that the gdiapers aren’t keeping up with your pee
You still have blue eyes
You are strong and really want to stand up. I guess sitting is for babies. :)
You hold yourself up really well
At your 2 month check up you weighed 14lbs 2oz and are 24” long. You are a lot chunkier than your brother at this age and wear some 0-3 month clothes, but mostly 3-6 and some 6-9.
We are glad you are a part of our family.
I love you more than you know,
Your Mommy

Eli-Day 31 {1 month old}
*melt* I love both of my boys so much!!
Dear Eli,
Your first month. What a month it has been! To be honest it’s been pretty hard at times. Being a Mommy of two babies is challenging. Sometimes you are both needing my attention at the same time...and I’m still learning how to take care of you both. Not sleeping is hard, but I know that you will learn that sleeping is a wonderful thing very soon.
You are a sweet little baby Eli. Your nickname is Peeps because you make the funniest little sqeaks, peeps and what we like to call the “Jake brake”. The Jake brake is really funny, you’ll be very quiet an all of a sudden make a “eh eh eh eh ehhhh” noise. It’s hard to type it, but hopefully we will get it on video soon. :) You look very different from Reid, and I think I can tell already that you act different also.
You can hold your head up really well and want to see our faces. You tolerate Reid’s hugs and kisses pretty well, with an occasional scream for a hug that’s too tight. You love to be swaddled and hate to have your diaper changed.
These are the things you have mastered in your first month of life: Eating, eating, eating, eating, pooping, furrowing your brow like your Mormor, kicking, flailing your arms, standing up when we hold you upright, making noises that were mentioned above, looking at the mobile Mommy made for you and only waking up 1 or 2 times to eat in the night (most of the time). You have also started to “coo”, which is so cute!
Daddy and I love you more and more as each day passes.We are enjoying getting to know you and look forward to seeing what your personality will be like. I pray that you will grow to love God one day. You have a fun future ahead of you with a brother who can’t wait for you to be able to play with him. You are a blessing and a sweet reminder that God is so good to us. You are a gift and we want to cherish each moment we have with you.
I love you,
Your Mommy
